Why is Portuguese a great language to learn?

Aside from being a Latin rooted language. Portuguese is very similar to French, Italian and especialy Spanish! However you will find that Portuguese speakers understand most of these languages but the Portuguese aren't understood by all of them as well. This is due to Portuguese's strategic advantage of being more phoeneticaly complex, giving you the advantage to understand them all!
